March in Parade

All children and families in the community are invited to come celebrate our state's great heritage at the annual 24th of July parade. The theme of this year's parade and activities is "Pioneer Families -Then and Now". The Tooele South Stake is hosting the parade and activities in Tooele this year. All children ages 3 to 12 are invited to participate in the parade regardless of religious affiliation. Children can dress as pioneers or as children from different cultures representing the diverse heritage of our community. Participants can ride bikes, wagons, floats, horses or just walk. All those who wish to participate should line up at the Tooele LDS Stake Center at 253 S. 200 E. by 5:30 p.m. Parents can drop off their children on the sidewalk near the church entrance off 200 South. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and go down 200 East to 200 South, west on 200 South to Main Street, north on Main Street, west on Vine Street and will finish at 270 West, the Tooele High School parking lot. Activities will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the city park west of the Leigh Pratt Memorial Aquatic Center. There will be free watermelon, popsicles, games and activities for the kids. Hamburgers, hot dogs, sno-cones and cotton candy will also be sold for a nominal fee.
